Paul Bergold visited the Technical University of Munich (TUM) last week (31 Jan to 2 Feb). He was invited by his PhD supervisor, Prof Caroline Lasser, to give a talk in the seminar “Numerical Methods in CSE” (CSE = Computational Science and Engineering). The seminar was hosted by Prof Caroline Lasser and Prof Barbara Wohlmuth, who aim to bring together people at TUM who are interested in different aspects and applications of numerical methods. His talk was on “A New Computational Approach for Bridging the Quantum-Classical Divide in Molecular Dynamics” (link to event page and abstract). Below is a photo of the math department at TUM, which is famous for the “parabolic slide” that can be seen in the background.
