The paper “Scaling laws for Rayleigh-Bénard convection between Navier-slip boundaries“, co-authored by Fabian Bleitner (Hamburg) and Camilla Nobili, has been published in the Journal of Fluid Mechanics (link here). Fabian is a PhD student of Camilla, based at the University of Hamburg (link here). The paper considers the two-dimensional Rayleigh–Bénard convection problem between Navier-slip fixed-temperature boundary conditions, and it presents a new upper bound for the Nusselt number. The result, which is based on a localization principle for the Nusselt number and an interpolation bound, exploits the regularity of the flow. The screenshot below shows the beginning of the published version.
