MoU signing ceremony between the Surrey Maths School and the University of Surrey takes place

On Friday last week (25 April), the official signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Surrey Mathematics School (SuMS) and the University of Surrey took place. SuMS is a school within the Learning Partners Academy Trust working in partnership with the University of Surrey. The School opened its doors to the first cohort of Y12 students in September 2024. University of Surrey staff and students are working closely with the School, sharing their passion for maths and science, and helping to design and deliver an innovative, stimulating and world-class curriculum. The signing ceremony took place at the Lakeside Restaurant. In attendance, representing SuMS, were Jack Mayhew (CEO of Learning Partners), Andrew Roach (Director of Education at Learning Partners), Nora Kettleborough (Co-Head Teacher, SuMS), and Sahar Shillabeer (Co-Head Teacher, SuMS). In attendance from the University of Surrey were Max Lu (VC), Tim Dunne (Provost), Eunice Ma (PVC Education), Emma Rowsell (Acting Chief Student Officer), Georgina Agnies (Director of University Sport), Esay Elpay (Associate Dean, Education), Robert Blevin (Head of External Relations), James Grant (Associate Professor, Mathematics), Richard Harrison (Associate Professor), Ian Roulstone (Emeritus Professor, Mathematics), Anne Skeldon (Interim Head of School), Paul Smith (Emeritus Professor), and Alison Taylor (Senior Lecturer).
