Matt Turner speaks at conference on wave energy held at the University of Exeter

Matt Turner visited the University of Exeter on Friday 13 June for the one-day conference on “New Directions in Mathematical Modelling of Ocean Wave Energy“. Matt gave an invited talk on “Wave breaking due to a sharp-crested superharmonic instability“. The abstract can be found on the conference website (link here). Tom Bridges also attended as a participant. The conference was the second in the series of the research network on ocean wave energy harvesting, supported by a grant from the Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences (network link here). The organiser of the Exeter conference and the leader of the network is Hamid Alemi Ardakani (Senior Lecturer at Exeter, and formerly a PhD student and Postdoc at Surrey). The photo below shows Matt at the beginning of his talk along with Hamid who chaired the session.
