The paper “Enhanced dissipation via time-modulated velocity fields“, co-authored by Johannes Benthaus and Camilla Nobili, has been published open access (link here) in the AIMS Journal “Evolution Equations and Control Theory“. The main objective of the paper is to derive quantitative estimates for the energy decay rates in fluid flows with a time-dependent background field. The paper identifies a class of time-dependent functions that are bounded by increasing functions, for which super-enhanced dissipation is proved. Two examples are studied in detail. The screenshot below shows Theorem 1.1, one of the two main theorems in the paper.
