Quantum Sciences Research Retreat II organised by Andrea Rocco and Alessandro Torrielli

On Wednesday 15 October, part II of the Quantum Sciences Research Retreat was hosted by the School of Mathematics and Physics and organised by Andrea Rocco and Alessandro Torrielli. (Blog post of part I here.) The retreat got together members of the Quantum Sciences Group to speak about their latest research, and to invite others in the School whose research contains a quantum component. The speakers in part II included Jan Gutowski, Ben Murdin, Eran Ginossar, Paul Stevenson, Cesare Tronci, Richard Forbes, and Alessandro Torrielli. Posters were presented by Richard Forbes, Matthew Freed, Vasileios Moustakis, Marc Russo, and Umashankar Shastry. As part of the “International Year of Quantum Science“, a evening colloquium was given the following week (22 October, link here) by Professor Fay Dowker (Imperial College) on “The strangeness of the quantum world“. The photos below show discussions after the event. Professor Dowker is second from left in the first photo.
