Philip Aston and his colleague Manasi Nandi (Kings College London) gave a talk entitled Can maths solve sepsis? at the British Science Festival in Swansea on 8^th September which was well received. Their talk described the work that Philip and Manasi are doing in trying to provide early detection of sepsis from cardiovascular data, and included a live demonstration of their cardiomorph generator. People also had the opportunity to view their own cardiomorph after the talk as well.

The British Science Festival is the longest-established science Festival in Europe. It is organised by the British Science Association and was first held in York in 1831.
