At the PhD graduation ceremony today (see link here) Andrea Fontanello was conferred the degree of PhD.  The photo left shows Andrea with his PhD Supervisor, Dr Jan Gutowski, outside the Guildford Cathedral.  Andrea has been awarded a two-year Postdoctoral Fellowship at Humboldt University in Berlin, in the group led by Dr Stijn van Tongeren. The theme of the project is “Exact results in extended holography” and the project will investigate various deformations of the AdS/CFT correspondence which are integrable, combining topics such as integrable models, noncommutative field theory, string theory and supergravity, deformation quantization, and the gauge-gravity correspondence. The position starts in Autumn 2019.
