Ian Morris arrived in Santiago Chile this week for a two-week research visit to the Mathematics Department at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile. The visit runs from 3 to 14 February and his host is Dr Jairo Bochi. They are working on the dynamical and statistical properties of measures on self-affine fractals. After the research visit Ian will spend a week exploring Easter Island. The photo below shows the Mathematics Department at PUC, where it is currently summer, sunny and about 30 degrees celsius.
