Workshop on the interface between Chemistry and Mathematics organised by Cesare Tronci

On Thursday 2nd October, there was a one-day “Workshop on Mathematics and Chemistry“, held in the School of Mathematics and Physics, organised by Cesare Tronci. Funding has been provided by a grant from the Leverhulme Trust. The aim was to bring together different expertise in physics, applied mathematics, and computational/theoretical chemistry in an attempt to foster interaction across these different disciplines. The speakers were V.Gerasimenko (Kiev), B.Blasiak/I.Burghardt (Frankfurt), R.Kapral (Toronto), B.Churchod (Bristol), P.Bergold/C.Tronci (Surrey, UK). Topics covered included mixed quantum-classical dynamics, statistical mechanics, solvation theory, and computational methods. It was held in Room 39 AA 04. The pic below shows some of the participants, left-to-right: Cesare, Viktor Gerasimenko, Raymond Kapral, Basile Curchod, Bartosz Blasiak, and Klaus Schleich. Click on image to enlarge.
