Surrey awarded UKRI MInDS funding for a knowledge exchange hub led out of Mathematics

Mathematics at Surrey has been awarded funding by the Mathematical Innovators in the Digital Space (MInDS) flexible fund, led out of the University of Warwick and funded by UKRI. It provides funding to appoint two new Innovation Research Associates (InRAs) for a period of two years each, beginning in 2026. The positions are co-funded by the University and the successful application was led by Matt Turner (PI) and Anne Skeldon (Co-I). The aim of this programme is to bridge the gap between fundamental mathematical research and real-world applications. The InRAs will enable growth and high-quality research by flexibly providing mathematical, computational, statistical and data analytic skills to initiate and deliver projects across all Faculties and Institutes, as well as industrial collaborators.
