Esther Bonet Luz passes PhD viva

Congratulations to Esther Bonet Luz for passing her PhD viva today (Friday 16th December).  Her thesis title is “Geometry and symmetry of quantum and classical quantum dynamics“.  The examiners were Marco Castrillon Lopez (Madrid) and Mark Roberts. Esther was supervised by Cesare Tronci.


Torrielli awarded grant to fund ECR attendance at Florence conference on AdS3/CFT2

Andreas Foiniotis passes PhD confirmation examination

Congratulations to Andreas Foiniotis, who passed his PhD confirmation examination today, Wednesday 7th December.  His PhD confirmation report is titled “Evolution of Resistance in Ecological and Epidemiological Contexts“.  The Examination Panel consisted of Tom Bridges and Sergey Zelik.  The principal supervisor of the project is Stephen Gourley, and second supervisor is David Lloyd.


Turner-Bridges paper to appear in Journal of Engineering Mathematics

The paper ` Lagrangian particle path formulation of multilayer shallow-water flows dynamically coupled to vessel motion’ co-authored by Matt Turner, Tom Bridges and Hamid Alemi Ardakani has been accepted for publication in the Journal of Engineering Mathematics.
