Study spaces on campus (Stag hill/Manor Park)

Welcome back to another blog! Since exam season is upon us, this blog will mostly focus on different study spaces on campus, including both Stag Hill and Manor Park, provided by the University.

Stag Hill

The Library

This is the largest and most popular study space amongst students and is open 24 hours (Monday-Sunday). The library consists of 5 different floors, each with different environments. Some floors are designated to silent study only and some are more group-study friendly to accommodate to every students preference. There are also private rooms which can be booked beforehand for group study through this link: https://bookastudyspace.surrey.ac.uk/isisroombooking.dll/EXEC/0/162y8231jxk316158dbv81xsr2nn

There is an eating area on the ground floor of the library which has vending machines for snacks and drinks which is perfect for a long night of studying!

MySurrey Dot

Previously known as MySurrey Spark, this is located at Senate House, Level 2 and is a great study space for collaboration and innovation. You can expect group study spaces and pods, bookable rooms for shared work and conversations as well as student enterprise and entrepreneurial events and workshops. Free stationary is also provided (depending on stock availability) and the opening hours: 8:30am – 11:30pm (365 days a year)

MySurrey Hive

This is one of my personal favorites with flexible seating, booths with TV screens and bookable study rooms all available from 8:30am-11:30pm 7 days a week. There is also a tea and coffee station which makes it a great place to not just study but also hang out with friends!

Manor Park

Manor Park Social

Created by the Students Union, this social setting offers a space for studying and for entertainment. Open from 8:00am-11:00pm and is located beside manor park reception. More information about the food they serve can be found through this link: https://surreyunion.org/ManorParkSocial/

Vet school (Main building): first floor rooms

The main building for veterinary students is not located on the Stag hill campus, but instead at Manor Park. The opening times for the study rooms on the first floor are:

Monday – Friday: 5pm-10pm

Saturday – Sunday: 12(noon) – 10pm
