Oooh Lala, Paris.

Hey Lovelies,

Today I’m going to be sharing with you guys some of my trip when I travelled to Paris in France. It was a 5 hour drive from where I lived in Switzerland so it wasn’t too exhausting but my whole family was definitely excited to get there as soon as we could!

When we arrived, we headed straight to the chinatown haha naturally… and we got some phõ which is a delicious vietnamese noodle soup with beef slices that you should have with Sriracha 😉 of course. and If you know me, you know I love Sriracha. If youre wondering why we went straight to Chinatown, that’s cause a bowl of phõ in Switzerland costs up to double the price as it does in Paris which is crazy considering how close the two neighbouring countries are !

So that’s the phõ noodles on the left served with some raw beansprouts and mint leaves that you have to cook yourself in your piping hot broth and the heat will kinda simmer down the beansprouts to a delcious perfection that complements the noodles and the broth perfectly. My sister ordered a barbecue chicken that looks burnt but I promise it was not haha. It was really really yummy.

Day 2, We decided to do some touristy sightseeing and walking around the Champs-Elysées which is the shopping street that you walk straight down from the Arc de Triomphe ( directly translated to the Truimphant Arc). A landmark of Paris that everyone would recognize. We drove around the streets of Paris because we figured that it cost way more to be commuting on public transport as a family of four.

So we drove to the Tour D’Eiffel (Eiffel Tower) and of course made some really touristy poses that everyone was doing haha but do beware of pickpockets in Paris especially around these famous touristic landmarks. There was a lady that approached us asking us to do a survey for her but after having been to Paris a few times and hearing so many stories from our friends, we knew what was happening and what to do in this situation was to just be firm and say NO. before walking away.

Next up, we decided to go to our favourite place to get Macarons in Paris. NOTE: it’s Macaron not Macaroon. French people get really upset when you mix them up haha. Macaroons are those coconut shaving desserts but a Macaron is a french patisserie. The art of making the Macaron is a highly regarded skill as only a few have fully grasped the technique to perfect the French macaron. (pronounced as mah-cah-hon) So if you do get to go to a Ladurée, make sure to try out this Rose Petal flavour that is absolutely amazing. For my Singaporeans, it kinda taste like Bandung which is so good. soooo good. and the Salted Caramel one is really good because of the filling they used, it’s kinda like a dulce de leche filling and consistency. You just have to try it. The blue ones are a new flavour they just introduced called, Thé Marie Antoinette and as you probably guessed, Thé means Tea. So it did have a light tea flavour which was good but not as great as the bandung one in my opinion 😉 You just have to try them out !

These Macarons are Pricey though because we all know that Paris is the home of French Patisserie and all things Dessert so they take it seriously here… and well, When you’re in Paris, you have to live like the Parisiens (what people in Paris are called) and just splurge on the macarons and to be fair, they’re kinda worth it. (maybe not the calories…. but hey.)

Anyways, Paris was amazing as usual. We drove back home the following day and it was another long 5 hour drive but the view was pretty so… that was cool. I hope you guys had a great Easter break as well.. I really have to start studying for exams.
