Guildford has several places for students to visit, both on and outside of the University of Surrey campus’. Guildford Cathedral
Guildford Cathedral is found on the outskirts of Stag Hill campus. It is an Anglican Cathedral that also has a number of events throughout the year, such as the Pre-Loved Kilo and Christmas markets. There are several benches found around the Cathedral to enjoy views of Guildford.
University of Surrey Lake
The lake on Stag Hill campus is a great place to take time out of your day and spend some time with nature. The University of Surrey also hosts the Free Fest by the lake (free festival with music and food), has outdoor cinema screenings as well as barbecues available for students to use.
G Live
G Live is a venue in Guildford town centre offering a range of live music, comedy, theatre and dance. It is a 20-30 minute walk away from Stag Hill campus.
Guildford Castle
Guildford Castle is found in Guildford town centre, approximately a 20 minute walk away from Stag Hill campus. If offers 260 degree panoramic views with spring and summer bedding displays.
Guildford Spectrum
The Spectrum is a leisure complex, where you can go bowling, swimming, ice skating, or use its gym facilities. It’s approximately a 33 minute walk, 8 minute drive, or 30 minute bus ride away.
The Mount
The Mount is approximately a 25 minute walk from Stag Hill campus and offers the best views of Guildford!
Guildford School of Acting Events
Guildford School of Acting is a part of the University of Surrey, and has several events and performances across the year for students and members of the public to enjoy at the Bellairs Theatre on Stag Hill campus. Stoke Park
Stoke Park is approximately a 25 minute walk from Stag Hill campus and offers 27 hectares of open views in Guildford. It also has food and drink kiosks, a fitness trail, mini golf, a skate park and a model boating pond.
Surrey Sports Park
The Surrey Sports Park is found on the University of Surreys Manor Park campus, offering a variety of sports facilities such as an Olympic sized swimming pool, the Surrey Summit (rock climbing) and a 120 station gym. Click here to read more.
