Study Abroad in Norway

Going to university is all about growth, both academically and for personal reasons. Going on a study exchange only furthers these aspects. As someone who never even had a passport before this study exchange, I knew nothing about other cultures, other languages and different techniques of teaching that are used in other countries.

As part of my studies, I enrolled in a module which focused on learning the Norwegian language and had to use it in real-life settings which helped immerse me in the culture and get an appreciation of how life is different in other countries. Studying at NHH also gave me a unique way of looking at preparing for assessments that are not used in the UK which has helped me back on my return to Surrey which has allowed me to get an average of a 1st in year 2.

Furthermore, after gaining a new perspective on education, cultures, and languages and throwing yourself into the deep end in a whole new country, you will become immediately attractive to graduate programs and future employers. Outside of your studies, you will find yourself doing all sorts of things you would not and could not do in the UK and may even find new interests in doing so. I found a new interest in photography after seeing how beautiful the country is.

I met some wonderful people from Norway, both internationals like me and nationals doing a full four-year degree, and shared some amazing moments with them all, and learned a lot about unfamiliar cultures and traditions, and overall broadened my horizon on an international level

The facilities at NHH were amazing, there were plenty of study rooms, and spacious lecture halls which accommodated for COVID by leaving 2 seats worth of room, lots of ventilation and a hand sanitiser. There is WiFi on campus available to all students, which worked flawlessly for me, which is great for lectures and seminars when you need to access online material. There is an enormous library available to all students which is great for group work, a cafeteria, and even has its basement which has its own student club and other student activities such as pub quizzes. Overall the quality of the university is extremely high, and you will have access to amazing facilities which will allow you to study and focus without issue.
