Professor Lara Anderson is visiting the department this week funded by a London Mathematical Society Scheme 2 grant.  Her principal research area is mathematical string theory and she is a member of the particle theory group in the department of physics at Virginia Tech.  Her visit is hosted by Jock McOrist.  She is giving a talk in the FSG seminar on Tuesday 20 May on Geometric constraints in heterotic/F-Theory duality. As part of the scheme 2 grant she will also be visiting Imperial College and Oxford University to give talks.  Her website can be found here.
