Three Phd students in the Department of Mathematics passed their PhD Confirmation Examination in the pass few weeks.
First up was Chrissy Gavin who passed on 26 January. Her examiners were Carina Dunlop and Rebecca Hoyle, and supervisors are Philip Aston and Gianne Derks. The topic of her confirmation report was “Analysis of mathematical models in pharmacology“.
Second up was Jim Allen who passed on 3 February. His examiners were Carina Dunlop and Anne Skeldon, and supervisors are Rebecca Hoyle and Mark Roberts. The topic of his confirmation report was “The dynamics and applications of games on multi-level networks“.
Third up was Andy Oxley who passed on 5 February. His examiners were Sue Hughes (Civil Engineering, Surrey) and Matt Turner, and supervisors are Pete Clark (Meteorology, Reading) and Ian Roulstone. The topic of his confirmation report was “Linear Models of Convection“.
