Dr David Schmidtt is visiting the FSG group from 9 February to 13 February hosted by Alessandro Torrielli.  They plan to work on integrable deformations of sigma models.  In addition he gave a talk in the FSG Seminar series on Tuesday 10 February on “Classical origin of quantum group symmetry in lambda-deformed sigma models“.  In the talk, after making an introduction into the lambda-deformed sigma models, he showed, from a classical Lagrangian point of view, the emergence of the quantum group symmetry of these models.
