Congratulations to Alessandro Torrielli who is part of an international team who submitted, in late 2015, a proposal for an extended workshop, entitled “New Developments in AdS3/CFT2 Holography”, to be held at the Galileo Galilei Institute (GGI) in Florence, Italy for 8 weeks in Spring 2017. The total budget is anticipated to be about 100,000 euros.

The international team consists of: Prof de Boer (Amsterdam), Dr Borsato (Imperial), Prof Gaberdiel (ETH), Dr Ohlsson Sax (NORDITA), Dr Sfondrini (ETH), Dr Stefanski (City), Prof Tong (Cambridge), Dr Torrielli (Surrey).  There is also the potential for the award of a Simon’s Professorship as part of the programme, and the proposed candidates are Chris Hull (Imperial), Mikhail Vasiliev (Lebedev).
