Alex Close  passed his PhD confirmation examination on Friday 27 July. The examiners were Jan Gutowski and Alessandro Torrielli. The project has the title: Variational and Hamiltonian techniques for plasma kinetic theory.    The PhD supervisor of  Alex is Cesare Tronci.
