Surrey undergraduate secures summer placement with Earth-i, the global space company

Ivelina Mladenova, a 3rd year undergraduate student in mathematics, has secured a summer placement with Earth-i, the global space company, with offices on the Surrey Research Park. The project is co-funded by the South East Physics Network and the Department of Mathematics. Her Surrey supervisors are Veronica Benson (Physics) and Alessandro Torrielli. The title of her project is “Activity Monitoring Using SAR Satellite Imagery.” The image below shows an image produced at Earth-i as part of their earth observation satellite programme (link here).
