The paper “Color confinement and Bose-Einstein condensation“, co-authored by Masanori Hanada, Hidehiko Shimada (Okinawa Institute and Kyoto University), and Nico Wintergerst (Neils Bohr Institute, Copenhagen), has been accepted for publication in the Journal of High Energy Physics. The final-form arXiv version is available here. This paper shows that color confinement in large-N gauge theory is essentially the same as Bose-Einstein condensation. This newly discovered connection solves several conceptual puzzles in gauge theory and string theory! Masanora’s recent single author paper (announced on the blog here), was a consequence of this Confinement-BEC connection.
