Suvajit Majumder, a finishing PhD student from City University, is visiting the department for two weeks, arriving on Monday 24th April, hosted by Alessandro Torrielli, and funded by Alessandro‘s EPSRC-SFI grant. He gave a talk on Tuesday 25th on machine learning applied to quantum integrable systems: Suvajit Majumder – INSPIRE. Suvajit and Alessandro had a joint paper some time ago, and he is now shifting more and more towards machine learning: The R-mAtrIx Net – INSPIRE. During his visit, he and Alessandro plan to discuss and understand how new ideas related to neural networks can have an impact on old problems, like the complete classification of integrable Hamiltonians for quantum spin-chains. The photo below shows Alessandro and Suvajit.
