The Isaac Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences has awarded a network grant of £10k which links the Universities of Exeter, Plymouth, and Surrey. The title of the network is “New directions in mathematical modelling of ocean wave energy harvesting“. The Principal Investigator is Hamid Alemi Ardakani (Exeter) and the co-investigators are Simone Michele (Plymouth) and Tom Bridges. The grant starts in October and runs to September 2025. It funds travel between and min-conferences at the three nodes. The image below shows large amplitude waves generated in the wave laboratory in Plymouth.
