Paul Bergold was in California last week (11-12 October) to visit the California Nanosystems Institute at UCLA for a two-day blue-sky thinking workshop “From Physics to Life” (link to programme page here). The conference was supported by the Templeton Foundation grant “Life on the Edge”. Day 1 was an academic day with talks from some of the project collaborators as well as other scientists. Day 2 was a public day, with talks similar to a science festival. The workshop photo is shown below with Paul near the back directly behind the left-hand laptop.
