César Javier Niche, from Rio de Janeiro, visits Maths at Surrey hosted by Camilla Nobili

César Javier Niche, an Associate Professor at the Instituto de Matematica, Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, is visiting Mathematics, arriving next week (26 November) and staying for two weeks. His host is Camilla Nobili. He works on rigorous analysis of nonlinear PDEs in fluids. He will give a seminar on Tuesday 28th November on “Decay of critical norm for solutions to some nonlinear and semilinear parabolic equations“. In his talk, he will address the decay, in critical Sobolev space, of solutions to the Navier-Stokes-Coriolis and the nonlinear heat equations. Using the Fourier Splitting Method and the Decay Character, it will be proved that these critical norms have algebraic decay. Link here for the homepage of César, and his photo is shown below.
