The Mathematics and Physics Postgraduate Research Conference was held this week (on Tuesday 16 January). The Organising Committee consisted of Jessica Furber, Laura Jones, Ryan Poole, and Elliott Sullinge-Farrall, with Laura and Jessica taking the lead as Principal Organisers. This event showcases the research of current PhD students. This year it included a guest speaker (Benjamin Galbally, PhD student at Bath, and former MMath student at Surrey). The speakers included Alexia Beale and David Hendriks from Physics, and Jessica Furber, Daniel Knott, and Ryan Poole from Mathematics. The prize for best talk went to Daniel Knott (with runner up Alexia Beale), and the best poster prize went to Anna Worthy (with runner up Bertie Woodward-Rowe).
