Onur Oktay on one-year visit to Surrey supported by a Turkish Science Foundation Fellowship

Onur Oktay is visiting mathematics at Surrey for a year, starting in July 2022. His host is Masanori Hanada and he is supported by a personal fellowship from the Turkish Science Foundation. He works in the areas of quantum mechanics, geometry, Banach algebras, and most recently he has been working with Masanori Hanada on SYK models and quantum chaos (see blog post here). In July 2023 he will move to China to take up a postdoctoral appointment at the Yanqi Lake Beijing Institute of Mathematical Sciences and Applications (BIMSA, link here), which is directed by Shing-Tung Yau. The photo below shows Onur with his host Masanori.
