Ayoub Mansar visits from École normale supérieure (Paris-Saclay) for research interaction

Ayoub Mansar, who recently completed his PhD at École normale supérieure Paris-Saclay, under the supervision of Frederic Dias, visited Mathematics last week (3-7 November). His hosts for the visit were Tom Bridges and Matt Turner. His visit was part of the breaking wave project of Mansar and Dias at ENS and Bridges and Turner at Surrey. The 2D theory was published earlier this year (blog post here). This visit involving numerical confirmation of the 3D mechanism for wave breaking in deep water proposed by the team. The picture below shows Turner, Mansar, and Bridges in front of a breaking wave painting in the Maths corridor.
