Werner Bauer was in Birmingham recently (27-28 April) to attend the kick-off event of the Academy of Mathematical Sciences AI Network (event website here). Werner was attending in his capacity as AI Lead in Mathematics at Surrey. The event involved discussion of the upcoming influence of AI on mathematics at universities, and had several talks on current thoughts about AI from some experts in the field.
