Hey guys,
So today I’m going to be talking to you about all the different sports that the University of Surrey has to offer. Firstly, did you know that the University of Surrey is home to one of the best sports facilities in the UK? The £36 million Surrey Sports Park offers facilities including: a 50m swimming pool, a £500,000 gym, an indoor climbing centre, three multi-purpose sports arenas, six glass-backed squash courts, eight floodlit outdoor tennis courts, three floodlit artificial grass pitches, ten grass pitches and a cricket square, a 60m sprint track, three multi-purpose exercise studios and a spinning studio. The Surrey sports park is about a 15 minute walk away form the main University campus and students living or going from campus can also make their way to the sports park using one of the regular buses that pass through the on campus. Students living at manor park are at an advantage as the sports park is only about 5 minute walk from manor park.
If you’re a student at the University of Surrey then you are part of Team Surrey. Team Surrey is the sporting arm of the University and represents a partnership between Surrey Sports Park and the University of Surrey Students’ Union. As a University of Surrey student you benefit from great membership rates at Surrey Sports Park, Surrey Sports Park memberships are now available to buy or renew at Surrey Sports Park, Manor Park Campus and will cost up to just £235 for the year for University of Surrey students (that’s less than £20 a month!). There is also a spring to summer membership for those of you that enter the new year and remember that summer is coming and you’ve been saying your summer body is loading since, which cost £129 peak and £99 off peak for 6 months. With your membership you get access to all of the facilities at Surrey Sports Park included in your Pass or a member discount on certain courses and sessions. This is also the only pass that gives you access to the Health and Fitness Suite and unlimited Play Sport and group fitness classes. There are also about 47 clubs of which you can join, participate in and compete with other schools and clubs, which also comes with benefits in the sports park. Asides from visiting the sports park to work out and play sports, it’s important to remember that Surrey Sports Park is also a great place to relax with friends, catch a bite to eat and watch live sport. With Starbucks and the Bench Sports Bar on site, big screen TVs showing all major sporting events and free Wi-fi internet access there are even more reasons to spend the majority of your downtime at Surrey Sports Park.
You can also engage in social sports every week at the sports park even if you don’t have a membership, there are basketball sessions on Tuesdays and Fridays and football sessions take place on Fridays. To participate, all you need to do is show up at the front desk of the sports park and pay an entry fee of £3. With well equipped, state of the art facilities in almost all major sports, the Surrey sports park has a lot to offer you so make sure to purchase your membership so you have access to all these facilities and you can finally start singing “Summer body loading..” with your chest.
