  • To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism, to steal ideas from many is research.

About me

Richard Sear

Department of Physics

I am a theoretical (well really more of a computational) physicist with a stat mech of soft matter and liquids background. I am part of the Department's Soft Matter group. My research is mainly on the nucleation of crystals and biological physics, which is mainly protein dynamics and self-organisation in cells. I teach stuff from maths for physicists to biological physics. Please see my homepage for details. Although I have lived my adult life in England (apart from postdocs in the Netherlands/USA) I grew up in South Wales. My local rugby team is the Ospreys.
