Open days offer a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the atmosphere of the university that could become your home for the next few years. Here’s an overview of what you can anticipate from attending an Open Day at the University of Surrey:
Registration process
To attend an Open Day at Surrey, you’ll need to register your place on the website. Alternatively, you can express your interest by booking the open-day booking alert form.
When I first stepped foot on the Surrey campus, I immediately felt a sense of belonging. This feeling was solidified when I attended an applicant day – the seminar environment felt familiar, and I could envisage myself studying here.
Upcoming Open Days
Mark your calendars for our upcoming open days scheduled on:
- Saturday 22nd June
- Saturday 7th September
- Sunday 6th October
- Saturday 6th November
Getting to campus
Situated in Guildford, the University of Surrey is easily accessible by road and rail, with close proximities to Heathrow and Gatwick airports. Specific directions to the campus can be found on our website. Additionally, we offer free parking on both Stag Hill and Manor Park for visitors.
Our on-campus lake
One of the highlights of the campus for me is the gorgeous lake – perfect for a gentle stroll to take a break from studying, enjoy a picnic or BBQ, or join in on our weekly PetSoc walk!

Subject specific talks
Engage with our experienced lecturers who will be leading subject-specific talks throughout the day. You’ll receive a timetable of all the talks so you don’t miss out.
I’d really recommend taking advantage of this opportunity to gain valuable insights into your chosen course and have any questions addressed. It can greatly help you in your decision-making process.
Campus tours
Campus tours are an opportunity for visitors to see and get a feel for our Stag Hill campus. Guided by students, these tours provide an opportunity to learn about student life and hear first-hand experiences of studying at the University of Surrey.
If you have any questions ahead of your tour, feel free to reach us via email at study@surrey.ac.uk.
Food and drink
We have a variety of cafes and restaurants on campus, as well as a small convenience store for food and drink purchases. You can explore all our options in advance of your trip here.
We offer a range of options to accommodate dietary requirements, and you can find information about Halal food options on campus in a blog written by one of our student ambassadors.
The Hideout on Campus
Surrey Sports Park
If you have time, it’s worth checking out Surrey Sports Park (SSP). As a student, you’ll be eligible for a discounted membership at Guildford’s largest sports facility. SSP has 120 stations, a strength and conditioning area, an Olympic-sized swimming pool, boulder walls, and much more. There are numerous classes available to cater to students’ preferences.
