Work from home

Hello everyone, It is me again, your friendly Ambassador.

Happy Easter and I hope you are all doing well.

How are you? It has been about one month since the nationwide lockdown due to the COVID-19. The flu is more serious than we thought, and a lot of activities including work and study have been out of order due to the pandemic. Several changes have been made to help us cope with the current situation. Of course, there are still some minor problems that we could not avoid.

Today, I would like to share my daily life and experience I have during the lockdown. Just like other people, our classes have moved to online and everything can be accessed from home. Since I am a type of need to be active and communicate in person, my focus during the lectures is reduced quite a bit. However, my solution is kind of simple but effective: Coffee is my best friend now. I like coffee, especially I like the smell of a hot cup of coffee. Instead of taking a full lecture, I divide the lecture into many parts and take short breaks in between to refresh my mind. I also call my family every day to check with them. Later on, I prepare my food and enjoy them with some movies or novels. Sometimes, my housemates prepare and enjoy our dinner together. Moreover, as April has come, the sun is shining and the temperature outside is warmer. Spring has finally come, and I really like this weather. Now, I have a habit of taking a short walk around my area every morning and enjoy the cool air along with the sun.

Here is my Vietnamese style coffee I made this morning
Here is our chicken wings that we made yesterday, we also had rice and other cakes too

On the upside, I think the lockdown is not that bad. In fact, I kind of enjoying working from home. First of all, I don’t need to wake up really early in the morning and prepare everything before coming to class. Secondly, I can slowly enjoy my breakfast and coffee, while reading novels or papers, or sometimes lectures. Thirdly, food and snacks are always available. I could enjoy them while working without worrying about distracting other people. Luckily, I have gathered all the data I need for my project, therefore, most of my work can be done from home without coming to the lab at the University.

On the downside, I was a little bit unsatisfied with the current situation. For the first few weeks, foods and supplies were really a problem. However, as some changes have been made effective, the supplies are still limited, but they are accessible. We also try to stay at home to protect ourselves and the community. In addition, I was planning to travel during this Easter Break and enjoy my precious time in the UK. However, with the current situation, all of my travel plans have been put on hold. I have been saving and preparing for the day I come to the UK. I really wish I could travel with my friends. However, on the positive side, I would have more time to work on my project and study, as well as reading novels as much as that I could (another hobby of mine is to lay down lazily, readying my favorite novels while listening to music and enjoying time passing by slowly).

That is long enough for this post, I will stop here and see you all in my next post. Stay in the house and protect yourself as well as others.

Good luck and have fun.
