For those of you who wants to level up your games!

Welcome folks! So we have talked about food in Guilford, clubs and societies in our previous blogs. It’s time to introduce something different – GGA, PALs, ELSP, some useful free schemes and programs for us the students to join, to better equip ourselves for future development!


Global Graduate AwardsGGA

With multiple subjects offered, GGA is a free extracurricular courses that provides students with the opportunity to enhance their employability whilst expanding their horizons. Ranging from language courses to demanding topics including Global Citizenship, Sustainability and the latest Entrepreneurship!

GGA for language provides wide array of options of free language courses with different level of entries, ranging from Arabic, Spanish to Mandarin and Japanese.

Worth mentioning is – there are 11 different languages and five different levels for students to choose within the language courses, available for different level of entry! However, only one GGA module can be taken each year so do think carefully before you enroll.

Upon completion of the course, student will be awarded with 15 co-curricular credits and have their result shown on their Higher Education Achievement Report (HEAR) – Postgraduate research courses will even receive a certificate! Tho it’s now closed for registration, but do remember give it a good check and ready to register next year!

Peer Active Learning SchemePALs

As a peer support scheme, PALs aims to matches mentee with a trained final year student mentor for supporting mentee’s study life.

By attending the scheme, mentees will be assigned with a final year student mentor meeting every week or as scheduled between themselves. Mentee may raise any concerns or topics whilst mentors will try they best and to answer them within their knowledge and experience.


ENGLISH LANGUAGE SUPPORT PROGRAMME – ELSP

Looking for tailor support to improve your academic English for your area of study? Need dissertation checking service? Perfecto, the ELSP is now open for semester 1 registration – once again free of charge, no assessment and with all study materials provided.

Throughout the course, variety of classes will be delivered ranging from academic English and assignment writing to critical thinking and presentation skills, aiming to improve your English proficiency in all aspects (1-to1 option also available!). More importantly, the programme is TOTALLY FREE OF CHARGE to join. Plus, there will be no homework, no assessment, no preparation needed – perfect for any expectation!
