Guido Gentile visits from Roma III for spin-orbit research project

spinorbit Guido Gentile from the University of Rome III is visiting the department for two weeks, arriving on Thursday 13 March.  He is a Visiting Professor at the University of Surrey, and during this visit he is working with Michele Bartuccelli and Jonathan Deane on the spin-orbit project.  The spin orbit resonance is where there is an exact commensurability between the rotational and revolutional periods of a satellite orbiting around a central body.  Guido’s homepage is here.
