Jacob Brooks, Gianne Derks, and Dave Lloyd are in Orange County, California, this week (11-14 June) at the SIAM conference shown left. Jacob is giving a talk on “Existence of Stationary Fronts in a System of Two Coupled Wave Equations with Spatial Inhomogeneity” (link here); Gianne is giving a talk on “One-dimensional Periodic Solutions in a Three-component Reaction-diffusion System” (link here); and Dave is giving a talk on “Selection and Bifurcations of Depinning Fronts Outside the Homoclinic Snaking Region in the Planar Swift-Hohenberg Equation” (link here). While there Dave has been doing some hands-on research on waves at Huntington Beach.
