Andrew Hazel, Head of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Manchester (link here), visited Mathematics on Friday 13 October. He held a meeting with the Leaders of Mathematics (Dave Lloyd and Matt Turner) sharing best practice, and gave a talk in the Friday Mathematics Colloquium. The title of his talk was “Bubbles and Bifurcations“, where he presented theoretical results as well as experimental results from the “Manchester Centre for Nonlinear Dynamics” (link here).
