EPSRC highlights project and paper of Matt Turner on fluid sloshing

The EPSRC funded project “Dynamic coupling in sloshing systems with multiple baffles” (gow link here), with Principal Investigator Matt Turner, has been selected by EPSRC for highlighting on their website (link here). In the interview with EPSRC, Matt said “Sloshing liquids can impact safety and efficiency. For example, if a tanker transporting liquids via road stopped suddenly, extreme movement of liquid inside the tanker could move the vehicle forwards …. In this project, porous baffles were inserted into a tank to help stabilise loads and reduce sloshing. The research helps quantify the number of baffles worth using.” A published paper from the project was also highlighted (link here). The image below comes from the article on the EPSRC website.
