Bin Cheng visits and speaks at the Institute Henri Poincaré in Paris

Bin Cheng was in Paris the week of 20-24 April to attend and speak at a Workshop on “Vortices and vorticity in geophysical flows“, held at the historic Institut Henri Poincaré, Paris (link to workshop website here). The workshop was part of a longer thematic programme: “Mathematical Developments in Geophysical Fluid Dynamics“. Cheng‘s talk was titled “GFD on a fast rotating sphere“. The Institut Henri Poincaré (IHP), founded in 1928 by Émile Borel, is an international research centre for mathematics and theoretical physics. It is located in central Paris next to two other institutes founded in the 1920s, the Institut Curie and the Institut de biologie physico-chimique. The photo below shows the front entrance to IHP.
