Werner Bauer and Bin Cheng organise a minisymposium at Dynamics Days Europe in Lisbon

XLVI Dynamics Days Europe – DDE 2026 was held in Lisbon this year. It took place from 19 to 24 July at the Rectorate of Universidade NOVA de Lisboa and Colégio Almada Negreiros, located in the heart of Lisbon, near the iconic Praça de Espanha. DDE 2026 continues the tradition of fostering interdisciplinary research in nonlinear science. Werner Bauer and Bin Cheng, along with Marcel Oliver (KU, Germany), organised a Minisymposium on “Current topics in geophysical fluid dynamics“. In addition, Bin gave a talk in the MS on “Shallow water equations on a fast rotating surface“. Johannes Benthaus, who recently defended his PhD thesis at Surrey, also gave a talk in the MS on “Enhanced dissipation for time-dependent shear flows.” Abstracts can be found here.
