On the first Wednesday of each month colleagues from Student Support Services gather to listen to guest speakers from across the University, offering a chance for us to become more aware of the work of others within the University, meet face to face and build working links on matters of shared importance.
This week we heard from Mary Hensher, Chief Information Officer.
Both IT and Student Services departments deal with a range of student matters and staff heard about
- The volume and types of queries which come across the IT help desk each month, volume patterns which closely match those in the Student Centre.
- Salvador Dalí – Caravan & Swans Reflecting Elephants
- A new Quadrants model approach to directing IT development
All attendees felt the talk was interesting, informative and provided a clear strategy towards improved IT services for staff and students alike.
If you would like to share any information on your department or service with us or would like to hear about the work Student Support undertakes please email Ruth McLeod (firstname.lastname@example.org) to arrange a visit.
