The conference EUSIPCO 2014 was organized by the European Association for Signal Processing (EURASIP). It was held at the Lisbon Congress Center, Portugal, and was hosted by Instituto de Telecomunicações and by INESC-ID. The focus was on Signal Processing theory, algorithms, and applications. There were around 1200 participants, with both oral and poster presentations being presented in 15 parallel sessions over five days. In addition, five plenary presentations from five different disciplines were also in the agenda.

The conference venue was located near a renovated waterfront, overlooking the Targus River in a prestigious area of the city, close to historical Belém and Alcântara.

I enjoyed the opportunity to discuss my work with experts in my research area and I was happy to network with other researchers. Needless to say that I visited some of the historical places in Portugal such as Belem Tower, Maritime Museum and the beautiful city of Lisbon!
